HybridThe (Sr.
) Engineer will be part of a team responsible for managing the PJM Energy Management System (EMS) suite of applications.
This position is responsible for monitoring, improving, testing and remediating issues for the application software and integrations of the PJM EMS system.
The (Sr.
) Engineer will perform routine software integrations and deployments responsibilities to include source code management and software deployments using the PJM software change management process.
The position also includes working with internal PJM departments and external EMS vendors to resolve issues, drive innovation, increase overall security and opportunities to reduce complexity.
Essential Functions:
Provide software integration support to implement software changes throughout the PJM controlled environments (development through production) Designing and developing automated scripts for new features, functionality and deployment processes Knowledge and proficiency for the Windows Server and Red Hat Linux Operating Systems Knowledge of understanding software versioning and revision control systems including GIT and Subversion An understanding with future proficiency with the Python development language Ability to investigate and troubleshoot applications issues using effective problem solving and collaboration skills Ability to work in a regulated environments following all appropriate policies, standards and procedures Provide application impact assessment feedback and support for organizational infrastructure changes Support and where appropriate perform software testing of software code and configuration changes Provide 24x7 rotational support for real-time applications Contribute in project teams to identify, design and review software enhancements, security control and technology architecture stack changes Grant, modify or reject application maintenance outage requests based on the needs of system operations Produce and publish new specifications, documentation and guides for PJM technology and applications for projects that are associated with the PJM EMS Develop and maintain relationships with Information Technology Services Division Subject Matter Experts to ensure the security controls and updates, technology road maps, infrastructure changes are assessed for impact and socialized Characteristics &
Qualifications:
Required:
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience At least 5 years of experience providing application software integration duties to include software release deployments, testing and troubleshooting as necessary.
Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support Recommended Skills Architecture Attention To Detail Computer Engineering Git Information Technology Infrastructure Management Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
